I'm Paul Brewer. I'm a working firefighter, and over the years I've been on calls where I watched families fall apart in real time — not because they didn't love each other, but because nobody could find anything.
The insurance papers. The advanced healthcare directives. The bank account. The will. The medications. The emergency contacts. The wishes that were never written down.
The Legacy Binder is part of The Legacy Project 360, founded to help families prepare well, protect what matters, and build a legacy rooted in faith, family, and practical wisdom.
The call that didn't leave me
I can still picture them standing there.
A family standing around, looking at each other, phones in hand, drawers half-open, trying to piece together basic information while everything around them was falling apart. Nobody knew where anything was. Not out of neglect — just life, busy schedules, and the assumption that there would always be more time.
Driving home after that shift, it hit me hard: I hadn't done this for my own family either. That realization stuck, and it didn't let go.
Two weeks later, the wildfire
The system got tested. And it worked.
So I started building my own system. What I thought would take a few weekends turned into nearly two years of refining, organizing, and second-guessing every detail until it finally felt right.
And then, just two weeks after I finished it, we were evacuated during a wildfire. In that moment, everything I had built got tested. No scrambling, no guessing, no panic about where things were. Just grab it and go.
Why three formats, not one
I built The Legacy Binder because the system I needed didn't exist. Not as a fillable PDF. Not as a Notion template. Not as a guided web app. So I built all three.
Over the next two years, I kept refining it, simplifying it, pressure-testing it against real life, and turning it into something other families could actually use. That became the Legacy Binder Family Preparedness System — the book, the web app, and the guides — all built to remove the friction so people can finish what matters.
This isn't a side project. It's the thing I want every family to have — including my own.
The story behind the binder
The Legacy Binder didn't start as a product. It started as a Google Doc Paul kept for his own family — a single page that grew into a folder, then into a binder, then into the system he now teaches other families to build.
When friends and crewmates kept asking him to send them a copy, Paul realized this was something every family needed — but almost nobody had. So he turned it into a guided system anyone could finish in an afternoon.
Mission
